Without these lipid shells, there would be no mRNA vaccines for COVID-19
If there is one article you should read about the safety of the Covid vaccine lipids this, is it. Note the comment about positively charged lipids being inherently toxic. And I quote:

LNPs used in the COVID-19 vaccines contain just four ingredients: ionizable lipids whose positive charges bind to the negatively charged backbone of mRNA, pegylated lipids that help stabilize the particle, and phospholipids and cholesterol molecules that contribute to the particle’s structure.
Positively charged lipids are inherently toxic, and companies struggled for years before landing on formulations that were safe and effective. When injected intravenously, the particles invariably accumulated, in the liver, and delivery to other organs is still an obstacle.
Reliably manufacturing consistent LNPs was another challenge, and producing the raw materials needed to make the particles is a limiting factor in the production of COVID-19 vaccines today.”
The two lower pictures show how phospholipids and mRNA (and DNA for that matter) are made up. Both contain a phosphate group with a negative charge that repel each other.
INHERENTLY TOXIC
As a result foreign DNA and RNA cannot just enter any cell. On the other hand a positively charged lipid which is a deliberate design feature of the vaccine can enter cells and as the article says positively charged lipids are inherently toxic.
